Columbia School District, Shasta County - Construction Inspection Services

Final Installation of 264 KW Solar Array for Columbia School District
Prime Contractor:
Period of Performance:
November, 2011 to January, 2012
Project Description:

As a subcontractor on this project, ADH provided expert surface water quality assistance and monitoring to this NPDES Risk Level 2 project. The project consisted of solar array and utility installation on approximately 2 acres adjacent to the Columbia Elementary School in Redding, California.  This project required development and implementation of a Risk Level 2 Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), in compliance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) District 5 North.  Documentation and permit registration through the Storm Water Multiple Application and Report System (SMARTS) were required for permit compliance.

This project was undertaken in the winter months of 2011 and 2012.  When completed, the solar array supplied the school with ample energy to match demand for most of the year.  Halcyon Solar Construction has constructed similar installations throughout the region for school districts, the municipal airport, and many private entities.
