ADH Environmental service areas include the following:

 

ADH has successfully performed water quality and stormwater related monitoring programs since 1999, and many of our staff have over twenty years professional experience providing expertise to federal, state, and municipal agencies, Native American tribes, as well as commercial, industrial and private clientele. ADH staff has performed such projects throughout the coastal oceans, estuaries, harbors, rivers, and waterway conveyances of the Western United States complying with all respective federal, state and local regulatory requirements.  These programs have been performed in compliance with respective provisions of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Water Act (CWA), industrial, construction and municipal National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase 1 and 2 requirements, and other pertinent receiving water quality criteria. We have provided consulting services to successfully coordinate implement, and carry out NPDES monitoring programs for statewide, regional and individual permittees. We have also performed baseline water quality studies for new land developments, proposed roadways as well as to establish viable and pertinent water quality standards under Section 106 of the Clean Water Act in order to protect human health and the environment.

ADH staff has extensive experience in successfully designing, planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on innovative state-of-the-art Best Management Practice (BMP) effectiveness testing and evaluation programs to fulfill National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase 1 and 2 requirements.  ADH has performed numerous facility inspections typically associated with industrial general and individual NPDES Phase 1 and 2 Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) projects throughout California. As such, we are very skilled at assessing facility conditions related to illicit discharge source identification, implementation of corrective actions, and evaluating and revising programmatic and structural BMPs to increase their effectiveness at the same time meeting our client’s specific regulatory challenges.

ADH field and scientific personnel have comprehensive experience in design, development, implementation, evaluation and reporting of erosion and sediment control projects. This work has included the design and construction supervision of storm water detention ponds, the reporting on the effectiveness of installed erosion control Best Management Practices (BMPs), and provision of assistance to help ensure compliance with site National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, project contract requirements, respective waste discharge requirements (WDRs), approved Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Water Pollution Control Plans (WPCP) in accordance with the NPDES Construction General Permit.  We have written numerous water quality reports relating to erosion and sediment control, source control and facility pollution prevention as well as provided project estimates and contract management.

ADH has provided professional capabilities and expertise in environmental and physical oceanographic studies, including dredge material reuse and disposal options studies, dye studies, current metering projects, and boat and barge operations. ADH has been performing such studies since 1999 and  ADH several of our staff have up to 20 years of experience performing sediment characterization projects throughout California serving government and commercial entities including the following: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), San Francisco and Sacramento districts at numerous locations, City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Works, marinas (Moss Landing, Newport Bay, Queensway Bay, and San Francisco), port districts (San Francisco, Oakland, Long Beach and Los Angeles), and the U.S. Navy (Naval Air Station, Alameda, and Mare Island).

Our staff’s expertise includes service capabilities beyond our core service areas. As such, ADH has successfully performed professional services on a variety of other types of projects including the following: remedial investigations, hazardous waste monitoring, groundwater monitoring, geotechnical observations and inspections, seismic structural retrofits, seismic monitoring equipment installation, database management, applied statistical evaluations, Geographic Information System based investigations and mapping, and biological monitoring.  ADH staff has provided support services on related projects for several clients including the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, municipalities, public works, construction engineering firms and the U.S. Air Force.
