International Aluminum Corporation - Industrial Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans


As a subcontractor to
ADH was tasked to perform the following work:
- Perform reviews of existing storm water-related documents for each facility
- Conduct site inspections at each facility
- Evaluate current SWPPPs and BMPs, if existing
- Develop a relevant, up-to-date SWPPP for each facility
Facility and Regulations Review
For this task, ADH staff members reviewed existing Environmental Site Assessments and other relevant documentation, as well as perform independent research on applicable federal or state stormwater-related regulations or guidelines for each facility.
Site Inspection
ADH conducted site visits at each facility for the following tasks:
- Introductory guided tours of each facility
- Independent walk-through inspections and photo documentation at each facility
- Thorough evaluations of existing BMPs
- Identification of additional BMPs requiring implementation
- Investigations of potential storm water runoff influences from adjacent properties
- Concise debriefings with facility environmental program directors
Reporting
ADH staff members prepared or updated site-specific SWPPPs for each facility. They ensured that each SWPPP was thorough in its site evaluations and recommendations regarding existing or lacking BMPs. Emphasis was also put on clearly conveying the regulatory basis and rational for each document, and on its readability so that it was a valuable resource for all facility staff members.
